Headed up by Sam King and Jim Brooks, our knowledgeable and friendly team specialise in commercial and domestic installations of PV solar panels, battery storage systems, renewable energy installations, electrical services and maintenance. Furthermore, we offer post-installation, full technical support for all of our installations via our installer apps and software.

Jim Brooks
Jim established Jim Brooks Electrical in 2003 in Sherborne, Dorset. Jim has built an exceptional reputation across Dorset and brings a wealth of experience in all types of electrical work. Jim Brooks Electrical specialises in both domestic and commercial installation across many industries including industrial and agricultural sectors.
Sam King
Sam has worked closely with Jim for 15 years and has played a role as both an installer and manager for the successful Jim Brooks Electrical. Sam is proud to be taking the reins, with a highly active role with on-site installations for both King and Brooks Solar Energy and Jim Brooks Electrical. Bringing his expertise and passion to the forefront of the business, with active installations across all areas, including solar PV, air source heat pumps, biomass boilers, heating & electrical installations across a variety of sectors.

We pride ourselves on our reputation and impeccable service, and hold fully up-to-date qualifications for both Solar PV, battery storage and electrical installations. The Process.
King and Brooks Solar Energy take great pride in handling your Solar PV installation from start to finish.
We handle all applications and notifications to the DNO, MCS and NICEIC to ensure all parties are aware of the installation, meaning our customers don’t need to stress about any paperwork.
We design a system to suit your renewable requirements and needs, tailored to the space available. All of the materials and equipment we use are fully accredited to ensure the job is installed to the highest standard.
Upon completion, we’ll fully commision and certify the installation, providing a full system handover and handover pack to the customer containing all documentation – applications, warranties & certification.
We can also guide customers and support with the monitoring of the systems after installation. This is done through apps and software, and enable us to remotely make any changes to the system that may be required to ensure maximum efficiency, meaning our customers have lots of support post-installation too.
